Need help 2012 Model Three or 2011 Model Three

    At least for me, the 2012 center armrest would not be a problem. Cupholder well forward from my elbow. For other, I do not know.

    Had a good listen to the 2012 Three sound. I suppose it's the same as 2011 Two.

    2012 Three sound: at volume 40, good CD, it plays, but the highs, lows, presence, clarity lacking. Those who aren't picky might like.

    2011 Three JBL: volume 34, same CD: much stronger lows, highs, presence, clarity. No audiophile system, but much better than basic system.

    NO SOUND is better than the base II system. I replaced the entire thing within a month of owning the car. One of the worst stock stereos I've ever heard.

    Ok, but beauty is in the ears of the listener. I'm sure some are pleased as punch with their base system. I remember the JBL in a rental Venza. Hmm, it wasn't happening. I'm happy with mine.

    Did you add an amplifier? Was it a pain to remove door panels? Years ago installed a Sony headunit into Boston Acoustics 6", high end speakers, powered sub, wow that worked.

    Good Luck with your 2012III, Do you know what colors will be avable to us? I am trying to deside between a 2012II or the PriusC. I like that light green color, but I hope its not just for the plug-in Prius.

    See Dianne Whitmire's threads in dealers / pricing. she lists lots of color combos. Nautical Blue (darker blue) replaces Blue Ribbon, Tan exterior gone, replaced by Sea Glass Pearl (?)

    The same colors as 2010/11 except that sea glass pearl (light green) has been added and Nautical Blue replaces Blue Ribbon Metallic.

    I am getting price quotes on a model II from SEVERAL dealers in the CA area. All of them about the same price as what you got a model III for. Is there something I am doing wrong or am I getting completely ripped off? I was about to set to pick up my new car 2morrow.. but after seeing this I am having second thoughts... =(
