I'm going to post the pictures and steps I took to install my Advent OTOPRI1 unit. It is listed by Advent as a Toyota Prius OE-styled multimedia & navigation unit. Welcome to Advent I will add more pictures and information as I get more time. -Sam
Sam, ( sorry, off topic ) I don't know about the Advent unit too much but the pics you got there look amazingly hi quality. what camera are you using?
Sam, Everything looks great so far, please keep all of us updated on your progress. That unit look really nice, thanks for sharing. David
Since I'm not finding a lot of "free" time to post, here's another picture of the final installation with the backup cam on. Notice: You can see where I mounted the GPS antenna on the dash, next to the other sensor... (top-right side of picture) -Sam
Sorry I haven't had any time to work on this post. I just gently ran the wiring down the edge of the dashboard and through the B-pillar on that side (just popped out the B-pillar a little; didn't completely remove it.) I then pulled out the stripping a little on the edge of the door (just a little) and ran the wire through and behind the lower glove box. It was very easy and the biggest tip is that I didn't remove anything completely. I was able to pull things apart just enough to fish the wire through. -Sam
I got a discount on this unit through a special deal my company has with Audiovox. I'm not sure I'm allowed to say what it cost me, but it put the unit in line with the pricing of other similar units. The device does appear to be OEM'd from FlyAudio. -Sam
