Seems like you'd be able to find someone in the nearby town of Mechanicsville, VA Seriously, I have not read anything positive about Toyota dealers in Virginia. In Rav world, somebody just paid $1000 to have rear wheel bearings replace on a 2008 with 40,000 miles, even though they had been complaining about it before 3/36 warranty expired. I would suggest asking around for a good local Toyota/Japanese independent shop, and save major hybrid system repairs for Taylor's.
Highly Recommend Mac's Service Center in Ashland, Virginia listed on Reinvolts website as an installer. A friend of mine had her HV Battery done there. She said they were great folow up called evven washed her car.
There are AAA authorized mechanics. Has anybody tried one of these? I haven't, mainly because I've only taken my cars to mechanics that I've met through close contacts. I'm not sure where I'll take my Prius when it needs work done. Mike
The Prius is just like any other car. Most things that need checked or repaired can be done by a person mechanically inclined or a local repair shop. Just tell them never to mess with any of the orange wires.
Replacing the coolant and brake fluids are very different than a conventional car. Other than those two items, everything else is quite similar. Diagnostics can be difficult without Techstream, though.
