What is this? (Slid front passenger seat back)

    So front seat passenger slid his seat back (for the first time) when he got out, I noticed this plastic panel under (or just in front of) his seat that was hidden when the seat was slid forward more.

    Is it just the VIN number of the car stamped under there? (It felt tightly affixed, even though it said "pull" with an arrow, and I didn't want to have a hard time getting it back on)

    Yes! It's the VIN# stamped on the frame.

    I think it is a JDM thing that just carried over in to all of the Priuses in all markets. In Japan with the cars being LHD that is the drivers side.
