Dear Prius, I love you like my baby, I take care of you better than I take care of myself, I put all around 360 tints for you, with a clear facial guard that lets your blizzard beauty shine all the way through just so I can protect your precious paint. I wash you weekly, wax you monthly, but why! why! Why must your backhatch hit my head not once, not twice but thrice! Every time your hatch door hits me I felt like stars dancing over my head, every time I tried to lift that hatch door further just so I can avoid getting hit on my head, but why must you lower your door just a bit to hit my head while I was expecting you to raise some more... Was I not good enough to you? After 3 severe hits to my head, extended swelling, I now have a bald spot size of penny on my head and I'm only 26 damit! My family have no history of bald heads! I'm here begging your mother (Toyota), please fix this problem on your child. Jin PS I 'may' still love you.
The lift gate can't go too high either because in underground garages or even home garages, it might hit the roof or the motor pulling the garage door.
Never had that problem.... Try wearing a bicycle helmet anytime your are in the proximity of your Prius. Keith
Haven't had that happen to me either, but I always wait until the hatch is opened fully and not moving before I lean in. Looks ouchy! Hope you heal quickly!!
You mean hope my dormant hair grow back quickly, the wound has healed 2 months now (it did swell to size of quarter before), but the hair hasn't coming back. The first two times I didn't lose so much hair but the 3rd time did the charm.
Well now that you have that large shiny spot... Hair Transplant Surgery Explained by Hair Club Perhaps a visit to these guys might help, send the bill to Toyota!
"Dear Jin, Your Prius, here. Yes, we've had three rude encounters. The first one I think I own full responsibility because you really didn't know me. The second? Well, I thought it was because you were still in the throws of puppy love and just not paying attention. Now, after a third incident I can't help but feel that the problem may not entirely be my fault. I do feel terrible about your gradual hair loss, but my mother assures me that I was never designed to remove hair. Please continue to care for me, Jin. But more importantly, please, please take better care of yourself. I really don't want to be seen being driven by someone with a weird bald spot." Or at least this is how I imagine your car to respond. I have done the same thing with my 4Runner on more than one occasion. I did semi consider getting a couple of those red aircraft flag things and hanging those from the lift gate. Especially in the winter months when the lift cylinders seem to struggle more to raise to the full height.
"The Prius made me bald". I'll have to try that excuse. Too bad I bought the Prius long afterwards. If you've ever been in the Navy, Coast Guard, merchant fleet, or simply worked aboard ship, you quickly learn to duck.
For me its the lift cylinders, it seems like mine doesn't have enough force to push up the hatchdoor, its however far you lift it stays, it doesn't automatically fully open afterward, on occasion it even comes down a bit. I'm struggling to get use to this concept of not having it fully open automatically. Need a stronger lift cylinders on those back hatchs.
LOL, yes I should do that, only if I can find their senior engineer's office address. Address to Senior Engineer, Thats to you sir for giving me bald spot on my head, better upgrade and replace those current cylinders on prius they got no power.
Nope. Only if you take yourself out of the gene pool. I don't think you get any credit for merely trying.
Update 6 months later my hair final grew back I'm happy now. I'm no longer bald. Btw what happen to a lot of pictures on this site? Its no longer showing up on my computer, including my own picture.
Glad it grew back. Ironically, this weekend I clobbered myself silly. I was expecting the hatch to go up by itself but when it gets cold, it does not. *Whammer*. Left a nice two inch, bloody gash.
