I just purchased a new 2012 Prius Four with a solar package. I have been jumping from one hybrid to another since 2005. I started with the Escape Hybrid, which felt cheap. Then I moved to a Mairiner Hybrid, which was OK but still not really what I was looking for, then I moved to the Fusion Hybrid and I have to say the gadgets were great, but still it was not a right fit for me. I hope that the Prius turns out to be the Hybrid of my dreams. Any advice on driving style or use of the gadgets would be appreciated.
Welcome aboard and enjoy the ride! Be inresting to see what kind of FE you get from having previous hybrids... good luck!
I assume FE is Fuel Economy???? If so, on my trip to work this morning I got 51.3 MPG. I have not figured out how to get me tank average yet.
Tank average comes from zeroing one of the trip odometers at the time of fill-up I believe. I only have three days in mine so far.
Sorry for the misunderstanding... I would be curious what bytemi will get (in terms of fuel economy) after having other types of hybrids as opposed to having come from a standard vehicle.
The Escape averaged 31 MPG The Mariner averaged 31 MPG The Fusion averaged 36 MPG I don't know about the Prius but I will update when I can have a couple full tanks under me.
What did you find that you did and didn't like about the Fusion Hybrid? I have been considering either a Camry or Fusion hybrid as a next car. I haven't driven the Fusion yet, is it worth looking at?
There was nothing wrong with the Fusion, she was a great car. They say you are going to 41 MPG and you don't. The Fusion has a lot of pick up and go and the Side Impact Detection, Backup Camera and NAV are great! I traded her in becaue I have Multiple Sclerosis, and the car I drive needs to accomodate that. The Fusion is great, the AC was not the best. With the Prius and the solar panels, I thought that it would be a better match for my needs. I would recommend the Fusion to anyone who asked.
