Why would your father recommend a new corolla, sentra, honda fit? He should be recommending a 2-3 year old corolla, sentra, honda fit!
New Prius or slightly used one. Have a regular Prius driver take a used one with you for a spin with the used one and take it to a deale to get it checked out...same applies to the salvaged ones....that can be an excellent buy or a gamble.
