Out of all the stages I have yet to figure out the best way to drive in this one. Currently I'm just driving slow through my residential neighborhood as if I'm using EV since I thought I read one time that the engine tries not to help in locomotion during this phase, just warm up. Is this correct? What if you have a big hill you have to tackle immediately?
For the first minute or so the ICE is mostly making heat. If you push it, it will supply power, but it doesn't give in easily. The best approach is to take it easy for the first minute - no need to warm up. If you need to immediately accelerate into fast traffic, or climb a big hill, some warm up may help. Tom
