I placed my order for a C 4 with Moonroof, with the standard 15" alloy wheels on 4/21/12. At that time, the dealer said it could take 2 - 3 months. I know that I have not hit the 3 month mark yet, but my dealer says that nothing matching my order shows up on their allocation sheet. If they actually placed an order for it to be built, does anyone find it suspicious that it still has not appeared on their allocation sheet? I am not familiar with when an auto would appear on the sheet. A search on buyatoyota.com shows only 1 C4 in my region, and not with the equipment I am looking for. I guess patience is a virtue.
Your frustration is understood. With a new year model and right now the demand higher than supply patience will pay off in the long run. Another option, a national dealer locate for the model prius C you are looking for and just do a fly and drive. Just a suggestion. I found our car on a list of Prius C's of about 117 C's just offloaded from a frieghter in the Port of Jacksonville, Florida. We wanted silver and a sun roof, no concessions. So I searched the list printed off the specs and vin#, took the info to my local dealer and asked him to locate the car. It took about an hour and I was told the car was not presold. Out of the 117 I only found one that was silver w/moonroof. So I gave the dealer my deposit and 4 days later took delivery of the exact C and vin number I found on the list with all the options I was looking for. Don't settle for less, get the exact car you want with the options you want. Hope this helps.
How does one do this national dealer locate? Can it be done online by anyone, or do you have to go through a dealer?
Talk to your dealer. Or go on line and locate the hyper link for all available Prius C's. This is what I did and how we located the Prius C that we ended up ordering.
SoCal Dianne has some prius C 4s in moonglow coming in. Have your dealer give her a call! My dealer is working with her to see which one of us gets a C4 in Summer Rain with a black interior first so I can get my car faster. She has a thread on the forums with her inventory. Good Luck!
