Oil change at 2500 miles a good idea?

    I read a comment from a Prius owner that he had his first oil change at 2500 miles to purge the system of new car gunk. Good idea? Thanks

    Is this oil change covered under the 2 year maintenance contract? And there has been a few threads regarding the oil type. What did you have put in? Thanks

    I'll just wait for Toyota to do the one year and 24 months service. I will probably not change oil myself until after the 24 month change and at 36 months.

    After retiring, I drive less than 10k a year.

    There is probably no harm and definitely no good for the car due to early oil changes. If it helps your sense of well being to use more oil, go for it.
