Just purchased 2012 lift back with light gray cloth interior. Just curious how this material holds up. Any input will be greatly appreciated!
Not very well, I can get some pictures for you tomorrow. I have almost 40k on my 2011 and the driver side seat bolsters and bottom section feel fairly thin and worn compared to the passenger seat.
I've been curious about durability as well. Though the material feels quite thin and delicate, being microfiber, I felt it might be mis-leading and a lot stronger than it appears. Has anyone, actually, encountered it actually having worn through?
I know that the headliner "pills" easily. On my brand new "v," I tried to remove some assembly glue residue with Goof-Off and rbbed the headliner with an old t-shirt. It "pilled" bad. I found that "flood and blot" worked a lot better. My14 year old 1998 Mazda MPV shows no worn spots on the cloth seats or the headliner, where I cleand it by rubbing.
I have 50k miles on my 3 year old car and other than some minor rub marks on the side of the driver's seat where I slide in and out they are doing fine. I have a 52 mile RT daily commute and have not found or seen any problems with my dark gray cloth seats.
Unfortunatelyy, I removed the pills long ago. Just take that as a warning, if you need to clean the headliner.
