Hello, i just purchased a new prius C. Does this vehicle come with any factory tint in the windows? I did not get any options for that or anything and it looks just like regular glass. I did search and saw some dealership offer factory tint as an option (like 43% or something), but I am talking about just the regular plain glass! I looked in the manual but did not see anything about this? Thanks!
if you look between the windsheild and the door glass, you can see a slight difference. i'm almost positive that all cars come with factory tint these days. It's very light and the windows are so big, I plan to tint them darker in a few weeks.
All cars come with about 30% factory tint (greenish hue) give or take a few %. This is not intentionally added but is a byproduct of the iron that is in the glass. In fact this really is true in most glass windows except for the very expensive starphire glass which is iron free and basically clear. This helps protect the interior and the occupants from UV rays. That being said the tint is not really visible to the naked eye.
