can the pip charge with the a/c on?

    i am thinking of upgrading to a pip. i work in my car and was wondering if i plug it in can i still have the a/c running while it is plugged in or not? i read somewhere that if you turn the car into ready mode the systems wont allow it

    No, that would require more than 11.6 amps that the 110volt charger device draws, so while using the remote A/C function of the key fob the charging of the battery stops while the A/C is running.
     
  3. Right, while it is charging, one cannot put the car in ready mode. Although, after fully charging, you could set the AC to 76-78 and I believe this charge would last quite a while. In the order of 15 - 30 minutes ( a guess ).

    You can use the remote A/C on the key fob to turn on the A/C when the pip is plugged in and charging, just that the charging session will stop untill the A/C has finished running.

    So, you can precondition the car for 10 min and then let it charge back for another 15 min? Can you pre heat the car in winter?

    I would think you will get pretty much back to outside temps if it is not on for 15 min.

    No, the remote AC wont work when the outside temp is too low (something like 65 degrees or so). It also wont work if the interior temp is lower than the outside temp. It really is there to just cool the car down on a hot day.
