I have been pricing the Three via email at a few dealerships and I realized that the Two is probably what I really need. Can you please verify that my findings are correct? I do not have a smartphone and I won't have one anytime soon so Entune is useless. I have a Garmin GPS so I don't really need the GPS in the Three. I do want XM so I will need to add it if I purchase a Two. I will not have a backup camera if I go with the Two. My current best price on the Three is $24,300 (MSRP $26,300). I just emailed that dealer tonight asking about the pricing on a Two. Based on the discount they gave, if the percentage is around the same the Two + Clazzio seats ($450 - nice upgrade from stock) + the XM adapter that works with the stock headunit ($220) will still be approximately $900-$1000 cheaper than buying a Three (verified tomorrow when I get their price). Will I be missing out on anything other than the backup camera and GPS? If that is all I would lose the Two seems to be a better deal. Thanks!
The three does have the backup camera. Maybe you meant Two in the last sentence of paragraph 2? The Three also offers 3-door SKS while the Two only has 1-door SKS.
I fixed my post - I did mean no camera in the Two. I forgot about the 3rd door SKS but that isn't a big deal to me. Thanks
Well the biggest thing I missed "upgrading" from Gen II to Gen III/2 WAS the the backup camera ... the second biggest is the phonebook thing .. even simple not too smart phone could use that over bluetooth ... whatever is in 2 is very very rudimentary third the 5 CDs vs 1 CD ... But not sure if it worth $1000
You might consider calling Sirius and buying one of their dash topped units for about 50 bucks. That's what we did, and added it to our Lexus for another few bucks. Works well, but check on the installation. An in head unit might be better, just don't get taken for it.
Filmmaker - I want it integrated into the touchscreen headunit so I am willing to pay a bit more for it. They are $220 on eBay which I don't consider too bad.
