[attachmentid=1747] [attachmentid=1750] Camry Hybrids are distinguished by the HYBRID emblem at the side, HSD badge at the back as well as an L-shaped clear section on the rear taillights and a satin finished grille at the front.
Interesting. 1. They're allowing publicity material to show a reading of 25.6 MPG. If the car's EPAs are 43/37, why? 2. Instead of the MPG scale ranging 0-"99" (infinity), this display stops it at 60---which could also double as infinity, huh?
Good point Jack. Also, does the screen only go to 60 MPG rather than 100? With the empty spaces, there was clearly some idling going on.
it still goes up to 99.9 MPG i believe. On cars like the Highlander and the RX400h, they have a similar screen that is more scaled to the mileages that are expected. Basically, the expected average MPG is centered on the screen. For the Prius, that's 50, and for the other HSD vehicles, about 30.
Thanks for those pictures; I'd never seen those particular ones before. Look carefully; there's a blue "EV mode" bar below the 60 mark. When the engine is off, the needle will be in this blue area. That's a great idea since the current method makes it look like the car's getting 100 mpg when it's really just infinite. Well specifically those empty areas are where the car wasn't moving but wasn't using any gas either. Zero miles divided by zero gallons = 0/0 which is not a number and has no effect on average mileage.
