I thought some of you might enjoy this 3D representation of the 05 Prius. All doors, hatch etc. can be opened and closed, colors can be changed - however I do not think that they are represented all that good. You rock habel! now if only I could find one in a file I can use! I want so badly to engrave a Prius into keychain crystals, but the only one I can find (at TurboSquid, in case somebody =P has an in) is $139. I don't think we'd sell enough of them to make up the model purchase price. keep your eyes peeled - free 2x2x3 crystal with a Prius and whatever text you want inside if you can find me a 3d model i can use (I use lightwave, autocad, and 3dsmax)

On that same site there is a menu near the top. One of the items is "specials". I'm bold so I clicked it and it's a screensaver. They have PC and MAC versions. I'm running it right now. It's pretty cool. The most awesome part is that I use two monitors and this puts two different images (actually flash-like animation) on each screen. Now THAT'S cool! If I suddenly stop posting it means that it's malware and my system is hosed. Until then, I'll assume it's safe.
My son is working on a 3D model of my '05 Prius using 3dsmax. We took an orthogonal set of photos to use as a starting point last week and he started on it over the weekend. I don't know when he'll get it done though, he started back at college today which ought to keep him pretty busy.
You can view a 360 of the Prius, open the doors, etc. on the US Toyota site under 360 Views and Feature Demos on the Prius site. Then just click on Exterior 360.

Yep - thats EXACTLY what I want. But since we sell each crystal at $15, that means I'd have to sell 10 just to get the model cost back, not counting materials, labor, machine time, or the 10% we donate from each end-user order. We normally pay less than $20 a model, or give someone a handful of free crystals in exchange for the permission to use it. If people are actually interested (you can PM me if you don't know what the 3d engravings inside crystals look like) I'd be willing - but my partners are of the opinion that there would be too little demand for it. Maybe one of these days I'll break down and buy it myself =)
I see your point... Why don't you make a new post where you show a good example (not of the Prius of course) - so that everyone can get a feel for how these things look. At the same time - take a poll/or preorder of a Prius crystal? I am ordering the fist one right now, + shipment to Norway!
WOW! I would love to have that model to play around with and to try out some ideas before I try them on the real thing. but its a little too pricey for me. I would love to see those crystals. If they look good I would buy one.
i'd be interested in one. got any examples of other stuff in this format? heck i paid $40 for a 1/30th scale model of my Prius (matching Tidelands Pearl too!@!) $20 for a crystal is cool... got a website?
