I like my 2012 Prius Four w/solar roof package a lot, but there's one thing that really annoys me and I was wondering if it bothers other people, or if anyone has found a fix. Most of the time when I start my car, within a few seconds I switch into reverse and I'm ready to back out of my garage or a parking space, but then the LCD display shows "portable player connected" (for my iPod) for like 5 seconds, then a short break, then "mobile phone connected" for another 5 seconds. While those messages are on the screen, because the backup camera is angles so far down towards the ground, the messages cover up pretty much my whole view of what is directly behind me. So if I'm in a situation where I want to check the camera (I know sometimes it's better to just look back), I have to sit there and wait for the stupid messages to appear and then disappear before I start moving. It's a trivial thing, but I find it annoying.
There is an option in my Advanced PiP to turn those notifications off. Either in Phone or Bluetooth setup.
Ah, I was able to turn the off, thanks! Usually I'm pretty good about reading the manual and playing with all of the controls, but, I missed that setting.
I have a Prius 3rd Gen Package 3 with Solar Roof. It has the Display Audio Package. I am unable to find the option to prevent these pop ups. I always get to do I want to connect to the internet with my iPhone. Is there a way to take this off? I wish there as an update for the software on here.
checkout pages 104 and 105, to turn off 2 of 3 annoying banners (while backing up). worked on my 2012. http://www.toyota.com/t3Portal/document/om/OM33A02U/pdf/nn05.pdf Does anyone know how to get rid of the audio message (e.g. "audio off", or audio source) while using the backup camera? I'm surprised Toyota missed this. Who wants to wait for a message to disappear so one can back up?!
Hmmm...I can't find those settings...this is very strange. I wonder if they took out those settings in the latest update to entune.
