Hi everyone, I'm looking for a new car and I'm thinking of getting a Prius. Test-drove a 2008 model with 100,000 miles on the clock and really liked it, but I noticed that there was a buzz from the passenger side of the dash when I had the a/c on internal/recirculated air. It wasn't loud but it was noticeable. Should I be worried? Is that likely to be a sign of a long-term problem and how much is that likely to be to fix? Any pointers welcome. Also, I read in the newb section that I should get a Prius-savvy mechanic to inspect the car before I buy it. I don't have a Prius-savvy mechanic already (used to drive a Civic). Are there any recommendations in the Boston region? If I use a service like AiM Mobile Inspections - Professional car inspection service for new and used cars., will I get a Prius-savvy mechanic if I ask for one? (I did a quick forum search on this question, didn't see an answer -- sorry if I've missed anything) Sorry for the torrent of questions. I loved the car and I love this forum as a resource. All advice/input gratefully received. Cheers, William
The buzz could be anything from a loose duct to a leaf to the blower motor. If you eliminate the motor, it doesn't sound like anything to be worried about.
