I LOVE TOYOTA. I take my car to the dealer thinking my extended warranty that I purchased from Toyota would repair my antenna that came detached from the base (the metal piece that the antenna screws into detached from the plastic). Toyota wants to charge me $500 to repair by taking the wire and reattaching it to the metal piece. Does anyone have any idea on how to get the wire from inside the black part which is attached from the car? That is what I need the most help with. Thanks, and don't by the extended warranty, they don't honor a damn thing on it.
oh, the base is a huge pain. why won't they cover it under extended warranty? which level of warranty did you buy? are you sure it's a toyota warranty and not just some outsourced warranty company used by the dealer?
It is Toyota's platinum package from 2004. Dont' know why it isn't covered. My thought is they got my money and they don't care at this point. I usually never by the warranties, did this time, and at this point am $1200 down.
did you press them for a reason why it's not covered? if you just accept it and pay for it, you're letting them take advantage of you. demand a reason why it's not covered.
Take it to another dealer, unless it is apparent that you knocked it off on a garage door or car wash there shouldn't be any problem.
How did it happen and what did you tell the dealer? Call Toyota Customer Care if you are not satisified with what the dealer says.
