Depressed Accelerator Pedal, prius engine clicking sounds (like the car is trying to hard to move)

    Sometime the car is fighting to move forwards when I start to depress accelerator pedal and it sounds like "click click CLICK..." the sound changes from lower to louder depending on how I depress accelerator pedal...

    Is bad gas a problem? But I filled with premium gas so as to avoid it, still happen occasionally... Where to check first before taking to dealer???

    Does your Prius move when this happens? Does the gas engine start?

    It does move... I think yes gas engine starts! It is like in the middle of my short, when I depress the pedal. Do you have any idea?

    I switched to premium gas of Caltex with Techron... And it solved my problem! Have switched many before and now I found a fix
