I like to fill my vehicles to the top. I have heard statements on 2001-2005 models. As to the '06 models is it OK to fill it up all the way? Does anyone have an answer in "Stone"? Thanks.
I fill my 2005 to the top most fill ups. Sometimes skip it in winter since it just takes too long. No problems in 15000 miles except when I rushed and it burped.
I have only had to fill my 2006 up once, filled it right to the top. It took a bit of patience to keep the nozzle from doing it's auto shut off thing. I do recall talk about you should not top off, why was that again?
There are a couple of current threads on this issue: http://priuschat.com/index.php?showtopic=14034&hl= http://priuschat.com/index.php?showtopic=14994&hl=
See a nice discussion going on today right here. Also, someone (maybe Bill Merchant?) mentioned that he read on a Toyota site that one cup of spilled gas releases the same number of hydrocarbons as your Prius does in driving 8000 miles. So, just DON'T DO IT. It's not worth it.
heh, and then there was my little problem from a couple of months ago: http://priuschat.com/Fuel-gauge-way-off-t11653.html That's when a fellow member ( hwearsch ) tipped us off about the fuel bladder contraction issue.
