Hi guys, I have to use the mechanical key on the SKS to open the door, then plug into the slot on dashboard to start the 2004. Replaced battery, nothing changed. There are two causes I suspect: 1. The CR2023 Battery was bought on Amazon for cheap, 5 pc/$2 roughly, about 6 month ago. What's the voltage should be if no load? 2. The plastic cover on the SKS was broken. It could be that rain or not-so-clean-water gets into the electronic part. Anyone has similar problems? Thanks! Allen
1. The CR2032 battery should measure ~3.2V or more when new. 2. Will the fob work when you depress its buttons? 3. Have you tried pressing the button on the dash that turns the Smart system on and off?
Patrick, Thanks for the reply so quick! I will try all of those. But I have another SKS which works perfectly. So I guess the problem is with this particular key.
