It's disturbing that the CNN article still characterizes the $2,500 dealer incentive and $7,500 federal tax credit as
True.. but positive to see forbse/CNN which were volt bashing before, come around. They probably have not driven one so they don't know the real reason it sells, and figure the credits helps. It does, but its not the only reason. -- just the reason that is easier for them to wrap their un-informed heads around.
btw, any insight into initial Prius ramps vs Volt ramps, worldwide ? I would suspect that the Prius ramp in Japan (along with line balancing) preceded the US sales ramp.
Yes, there was a early gen prius for sale in Japan for 3 years before the Us launch The wikipidia page has yearly sales data on the prius Toyota Prius - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Not worried enough about it to find monthly.. and selling it in japan is very different.
The other shared platform, Cruze: 237,758 YTD. Dealers selling the Cruze have 10:1 sales ratio over the volt. The Cruze also sold more than 2011 :231,732. That is good news to hear. DBCassidy

Cruse is a PROFIT center for Chevy, Volt is not. Cruse is a product dealers have no problem selling, Volt is not. Platforms are the same for the Cruse vs, Volt, Cruise has a HUGE advantage over the Volt: it is affordable for the driving masses. DBCassidy
I saw at least three (different ) Volts out in the wild today. I'm happy to see each one of them and it's a nice looking car. I hope Chevrolet is able to profit off Volt so that it becomes a 'very important car' for them.
