While looking up something, I stumbled across what looks like huge incentives on the Rav4 EV but only for So Cal (works w/90024 and 90210 zip code). If I put in 95136 or 94230, I didn't see such great deals. From Toyota Dealerships - New & Used Car Deals & Special Offers | BuyAToyota.com w/90024 zip code: Wow... I guess Toyota wants to move them as they're selling very badly per November 2012 Dashboard | Hybrid Cars. At that rate, they're not going to hit the goal of 2600 in 3 years.
I was seriously considering buying one with those incentives, until I confirmed they refuse to service them outside of California, due to "special" service requirements. Given that Tesla is creating a nationwide service capability, this restriction seems unnecessary. Oh well ..... Of course, how much servicing could they really require? Maybe I could just tow it to California every couple of years!
The 2500 Loyalty cash is/was for current Rav4 EV owners BUT they have to have their certificates. I have sold quite a few Rav4 EVs and no one so far has been given the certificate. I'm calling that $2500 GHOST advertising, LOL!
