I got my Prius c last Thursday evening. I have commuted to work since then six times. It's 40 miles each way, and they're mainly highway miles. I drove my car 475 miles since purchase and I am guessing that the fuel tank has a capacity of about 9 gallons (?). It took just shy of 9 to fill it up and the car had beeped to indicate to me that it was time to get gas. So I am very happy with these numbers! I think I am averaging 50-52 MPG.
Congrats! Yep, this is a MPG monster... Sometimes I really forget that I need to go to the pump from time to time.
Sounds about right. I think the owner's manual says the fuel capacity is 9 gallons. I have found that my car's mpg overestimates by about 2 gallons compared to what I calculate manually. I recommend using Fuelly to track your fuel ups and MPG. It's an easy way to keep track of it all.
I commute 500 miles per week. All highway. I fill up every 4 days! Been averaging about 52 MPG calculated for the last several tanks.
It has a 9.5 gallon tank. I usually get about 8.75 gallons in it when I fill out. I love being able to fill up for $30! Today is day 13 since filling up! I smile as I pass gas stations now
Isn't that so neat? I am halfway through my third tank, had the car a month now. I commute 55 miles a day to work and back.
I've had my C1 for 3 weeks now . - done 540km and still have 4 bars left on the fuel guage! (almost half tank) - I've never experienced this before with "any" vehicle??? kinda have to pinch myself?. I estimate the full tank will give me a total range of 1000km? will be interesting to find out when i go for my 1st fill?. Oh ..... and my best Eco score is 3.3Litres/100Km = pretty cool ay?
You could. Others have with the regular model. I'd typically fill up around 650 km, when the final pip started to blink. It was consistently at the 9-gallon point. What is it for c ?
awesome - As far as your question though....I don't know? after today my odometer read 650km with still 4 bars left?. been testing my acceleration & got it best at 3.1Litres/100km. Amazing stuff! ....what can I tell ya?
Just had the C for 100 miles now and got my first 50mpg commute. love it! My other vehicle is a 4dr Jeep Wrangler on 35" tires. hahaha Can you say 14mpg (cold, snow&ice, 4x4 drives)? hahaha WOW I love both, but for different reasons... My neighbors must think I'm coocoo.
I remember my first fill up. I was amazed at how far I drove. It has been 8 months now and despite the cold I am still getting fantastic mileage and my C is just great.
My other is a 71 Monte Carlo with a big block that gets about 8 MPG. My friends still can't figure out why I would have a Hybrid as a main car. To me they are both classics for thier time period.
(9/4/2015) Bought new w/36 miles (full tank of gas) > drove 420 miles mostly hwy > this morning, refueled up w/9.3 gallons that means +/- 45 MPG (since tank size is 9.5 gallons).
