I will replacing the Evo 3D phone with the LG Nexus 4 when the slimport cable coming in. Update - With the Nexus 4 using a slimport adpater it work flawlessly with the HU. Installed like any other Double Din HU. Everything works from phone to HU. Iphone and a handful of android phone support. Here Some pics: All buttom are backlight (left to Right) - volume, + volume, Home, Menu, and back (Just like on your phone) GPS Signal lock-in through Head Unit except when google maps, it force you to turn on the phone's GPS(Waze, Google Nav/Map, etc) Help from Pruischatforum with the GPS location ( Through speaker hole) Left Mic for in call from HU (Mic placement). The mic head also pivot. Side-angle view. 3D Evo with MHL adapter and HDMI cable fishing under center console. Usually on the floor of the center console and closed. 3G/4G and cell phone reception was still good inside the center console. 3D Evo have side mhl video out so phone tray was useless.
Go for it!, peterjmc. Now a day it a privilege to have a car with Double Din. Which now seem that car manufacturer are forcing you to use their over-price, outdated, non-customizable Telematics system.
Looks awesome! I was wondering if you had to buy the Android adapter for the Appradio 2 or if you are just using an HDMI cable.
Gus6464, if you phone have a video out thru microusb MHL or HDMI by way of an adapter or straight out to a hdmi cable it must likely is compatible with the appradio 2. appradioforums.com is a great source to get the answers to what can work and what can't, what Roms will work for hdmi out. Everyone in that forum mention the Android adapter kit is waste of money.
Hi. Great post. Question: have u been able to connect the OEM rear camera to pioneer appradio head unit ?
