Uses the 1.3ltr.. Looks to have more headroom along with wider opening doors and hatch than that of the "C" . Like the dash better as well . Here's the review , Toyota Yaris Hybrid 2012 Road Test | Road Tests | Honest John . A shame we don't get the models that other countries do .
It uses the same drivetrain as Prius C, not 1.3 but 1.5 ltr. A shame we in Europe don't get the same models you in America do (Prius C, C-Max Hybrid, Jetta Hybrid ...)
lol thanks Gasper. I was just going to say that too. America gets way more hybrids than we do and usually on models already sold here such as the Jetta or C-Max. But the German and French diesel lobby see that polluting diesel is pushed hard here. Still waiting for the Toyota Avensis to offer a hybrid option at a good price. Hybrids still seem to be classed as 'premium' and cost much more than perhaps they should/could.
Diesels are best for larger cars or SUVs. A heavy diesel engine in a small car messes the handling and they always seem 'heavy' to drive too. The fuel economy savings in small diesel cars isn't worth the extra cost of the diesel option. Maybe in France or Germany where diesel fuel costs much less than petrol, but in the UK or the US where petrol is cheaper than diesel, then it's not worth it.
We had a '79 RABBIT diesel bought used , but not for long . It creeped up hills and got us many peed off followers . Many people probably think they're the same today , which apparently is not the case . Diesel is around $4.40 a gallon . If it got 50+ m.p.g. might be worth considering .
lol no. Diesel cars are nothing like the ones from the late 70's, in the same way petrol ones aren't. They're quick and can be fun, but I doubt you'll get those ones. Most can be heavy slugs. Unlike this; Alfa Romeo
That's out of our price range . Would rather buy 3 or 4 small diesel cars for the same cost . Probably a YARIS , HONDA , and a few others .
Just remember our cars have 20% vat/sales tax. I was just showing that modern diesels don't have to be slow slugs such as the 1970's and early 1980's diesels remembered by many Americans.
