Hi.I'm from Brunei. I bought a Toyota Prius 2010 (ZVW30R). I want to exchange my original radio with a new Navigation displayunit GPS JBL E7022 OEM 86120-47390 for my car. I already bought it from USA.But the harness is not same and cannot connect it directly to the player. Are there a special wire harness or kit that can connect from a radio to a original Navigation unit?The picture is from the back of my radio.Thanks.Regards, Jeri
Does your car have 8 speakers or 6? Based on your picture you do not have the 6 speaker base model head unit that came off my car. If you have 2 speakers on each back doors and an Amp under one of the front seats you might have the JBL system which should be easier to adapt. That's going to make things tough because the NAV unit from the States uses a dedicated amp and very different wiring.
I know your 6 speaker not JBL radio is not the same as my US base 6 speaker radio because I have mine in hand and looking at your photo. First thing you need to do is get your cars VIN specific wiring diagram. It is possible the wiring is the same even if the radios are different, but you have to make sure.
The US models came with 3 distinct systems in 2010. Base AM/FM/CD with 6 speakers, JBL w/Amp AM/FM/CD with 8 speakers, and JBL w/Amp NAV/AM/FM/CD with 8 speakers. The later also had a back-up camera option. All have different plugs and are wired differently. There was also a Satellite Radio add-on, but not sure if this was Factory installed, though it was Dealer installed for sure. As mentioned the harnesses may be the same, but not sure based on your location/market. Check with Frenchie and Paja for differences in their market. I have the wiring diagrams for US.
Kenwood and Pioneer are similar installs in the big picture. I just did mine all at once drawing on the knowledge "spiderman and so many others" thankfully contributed on this forum. I do remember reading about people trying to do what you are, I just don't remember where, and did not save it because I did not like the JBL options. This was the primary reason I bought a Base Prius-no options, then added the sound system, heated leather, tint, ect...after. But that's me.
