So I decided to make the switch after doing some research and I ended up trading in my 2007 Cadillac Escalade for a 2013 Toyota Prius V Five Model with ATP. After owning my Prius V for almost 3 weeks I feel that I made a smart choice since I'm no longer going to a gas station every week. I have put in 300 miles so far and I'm averaging 39.9 MPG compared to 9.6 MPG that I was getting in the Escalade. The Prius V rocks could not be any happier with my trade
Yay! Welcome aboard! You'll probably be floored by how little it costs to fill a Prius v for the distance driven vs. the Escalade. You'll have so much more $ leftover to save or spend on other things.
BTW, you'll probably find your mileage rising until you hit winter (where it'll fall and then rise again as the weather warms up). Keep in mind that seemingly "large" variances in mpg aren't necessarily that large if you look at it from a "gallonage" point of view. See Car and Driver: Mileage? No, it's Your Gallonage that Really Counts | PriusChat. A 5 mpg drop from 40 to 35 mpg is tiny in terms of "gallonage" difference compared to a "small" drop of 1 mpg from 10 to 9 mpg.
Congrats....you will not regret it... Had ours for over a year and 16k....42++ calculated... Search the forums/youtube for some driving techniques that will take full advantage of the Prius technology.. You don't have to drive like an old man but the skills are soon learned and become second nature.. GOOD LUCK.....
wow.. 9 to 39! That must rank pretty high in terms of gain in mpg from old to new. I went from 23-25mpg to 40's.
JNTcustoms – You now have found what I have known since acquiring my Pv5ATP in 2011, the Prius v(vee) is a “Caddy In A Komono.”
