Does anyone have a recommendation for a mount that does NOT mount on the window and that STAYS? I didn't have this issue in my old Prius (06) but this new one I can't seem to find anything that will stick to the dashboard. I really don't like anything on my windows - I feel like they obstruct views and there's really no good place for them and I hate the residue they leave. So I am open to recommendations (links would be very helpful) for some way to get things to stick to the dash. In my old Prius I used some two-sided sticky stuff used for hanging things and this isn't working on my new car. Thanks in advance!
I have mine mounted on the steering column in direct eyesight, no problems. Standard Garmin windshield mount attached to Garmin mounting disk.
I find it a little awkward reaching around and through the steering wheel. I mounted my Garmin 3790 on the dash at the left of the steering ywheel. For me, it in just the right place. I us denatured alcohol to prep the dash surface before affixing the Garmin mounting disk. A heavy weight placed on top of it overnight assures it won't come off. It's been on the dash for about 8 months now with no problem.
Thanks everyone! I have an ancient TomTom and I use my phone a good deal of the time. The TomTom mount stuck for a bit but in the weird 80deg weather we had for the last couple days it unstuck and I can't get it to stick anymore. I had it mounted right over the screen on the dash. I have been placying the phone on the center column...but it really needs a new place because it slides off so easy. I used to have a phone mount that fit in the cup holder and it was okay - but still not in the ideal place.
