I hope this hasn't been posted already. I just stumbled across this today at Code: http://www.greendriveexpo.com/ . I missed last year's due to a time conflict. Oh well.
I fully sympathize. In the 1980s I got involved with the DECUS user group conferences and it is amazing how much time and energy is spent putting on a conference or show. Often the organizers spend dawn to midnight just handling the business of the show and have little time to enjoy what is going on. Add to that, everyone is a critic . . . Oh, I meant constructive criticism. Seriously, the Powers organization did good on a small budget and if you had a chance to enjoy their efforts, consider yourself lucky. But the history of hybrid car expos, conferences, and rallies is more often littered with their one-time rise, and rapid disappearance. Hybridfest / Greencar Expo set a record and we owe the Powers a debt of gratitude. Thanks Eric and to your kind and gracious wife! GOOD LUCK! Bob Wilson
Tried to update the main post w/ the URL, however it seems their home page is also slightly "hacked" in that the ATOM feed will inject ED blue-pill commercial links. :-(
Thanks for the kind words, you guys. Eric and Becky and I had a great time putting the show together for all of you, that's for sure, but seven years and ten shows is a lot/long time. It was fabulous meeting so many of you both here in Madison and out there in California—all y'all are remarkable people, and we love each and every one of you. :-D Until we meet again!
I put off going for two years, and now I can't. The lesson there is "Life is uncertain, eat desert first."
It was a great experience assisting to the first 2 Madison's expositions,we met great people, made great friends and a life long nice memories for my wife and I. This is a shocker of a news, was planning to show to Hybridfest/green car again this year with new hardware in my vehicle again, but seems that I would have to do it local, in the major NY events only. Thank you very much to the "Powers organization" an all the members that made it possible trough the years. Horacio
My family and I were looking forward to doing a little convoy of our Prius and out Model S too. Oh well.
