The manual just says to check with the dealer....

Do you put it in the regular dvd?... how is it loaded?

Once its loaded, how do you interface with it?

If I missed it in the manual.. please let me know the page #.

    On my Honda,
    - you pop out the tray
    - take out the old DVD
    - put in the new DVD
    - close the tray

Done. The system reboot itself. Watch the sceen and follow instruction. :D

Humm.... I'll have to look closer, but I haven't yet noticed where the old one is?
I'm assuming it has nothing to do with the 6 disk cd changer for the stereo?
    It must be somewhere else.

I'm not positive, but I believe it's in the unit on the floor under the driver's seat.

It is under the driver's seat. Move it forward and you should see it on the floor from the back seat. There is a snap on cover that needs to be removed, just press on some tabs. This will reveal the DVD slot and a eject control. I don't recall whether you push or slide the eject control and you might need to have aux on.

You have the newest version available. So do I and the @#$@#%@# is out of date!!! We had a MAJOR highway FINSISHED 1.5 years ago and it did not make the latest DVD. I called to complain and I was told to buy the new one when it came out at the end of this year. Geee thanks Toyota I'll give you a few hundred bucks because you suck.

Rumor has it someone succesfully made a "back up" I wish I could find the link to the directions. I'd love to "back up" the new one when it comes out.

Someone made a post on how he did it. I know it wasn't just a standard copy. He had to do some song and dance with Nero to get it to work. I think the original post was before the forum melt down last fall. I did a search and could not find it...maybe some can.

The maps for GPS systems are always a year or so out of date. The mapping companies release updates every 3 months, but the GPS software side has to integrate the map with their particular navigation software. The GPS companies seem to try to update once a year, but with the various time lags, plus plain old error, the product may be as much as 2 years behind when it comes out. I'm sure Toyota doesn't produce the maps or the software.

I have nero and I'm sure it will work if you know the right settings.. but I'm going to try clone dvd2... its pretty good about making an exact duplicate... if its protected, I may have to rip it first.

A promising way to try a burn with Nero may be to use high quality disks, then burn in an .iso image or .nrg. Then you can pull from that file to burn.

The beauty of that method is that Nero makes an exact copy!... Cd's that are bootable etc that normally has info that wont' transfer because of invisible files all get transferred with that method.
