I'm hopeful my good FE drought ends this tank. I'm at 60.5 with 487 miles on the tank. My wife took the car yesterday, and dropped the tank mpg from 59.8 to 59.1. Definately dangerous .. I think I'll bribe her to stay away through the weekend. Good luck to all !! Addendum: Feb 4rth, 2006. I made it. [attachmentid=2088]
DH took the car tuesday and wednesday, did some running around, dropped it from 61 to 57, then from 57 to 47. now i'm fighting up to 48... GAH!!!
When I took it in for it's 30K service this morning the display was 59.4 MPG at 360 miles. When I got it back it was 58.2 I still have a few more miles on the tank but doubtful it will be over 60.
Whoa, don't even get me started on having a significant other ruin my pristine mileage! Although she is getting better, the only day it only dropped from 56 to 55.8 with her making several trips. Good luck EricGo, you can make it!
I'm at 58.6 currently ~170 miles on the current tank. It'll be tough to get up to 60 (I only have a handful of 60mpg tanks as it is). On a side note, I had my best January ever, 54.6MPG. This is in part thanks to the Engine Block Heater, but mostly thanks to the second warmest January in history for my area. This does bode very well for bringing my lifetime average up to the 53.0MPG mark by the end of summer though (the numbers move very slowly now at 37k+ miles on the car).
