Hi all. Wife and I recently purchased (almost 2 weeks ago) a 2013 Blue Ribbon Metallic v, pkg 2. So far we are loving it. It accomplishes its purpose really well...that is, to provide reliable transportation for small families while delivering room, comfort, and excellent mileage. To that extent, we are very pleased with the vehicle. This my mainly for my wife, though I must admit I find myself getting geeky over it. It's a welcome change from my 5.0 (my stress relief, sunny only beast), and my TSX (daily driver). Mod bug already hit. I replaced all interior lights with 5k LEDs, license plate lights to LEDs, parking light to LEDs, and headlights to xenon HIDs (my favorite mod thus far). Wife loves the increased visibility. So far we're averaging over 50mpg in the city. Is this normal? lol. Also had 3M clearbra done to front end and CS20 (20%) tint done on rears windows. We look forward to learning more from this forum. Pics to come when I meet my 4 posts. Lol. Here are some pics. Interior Lights Parking lights during install/after License plate lights Xenon HIDs (during/after) Am also heavily into detailing. Paint was corrected to remove dealer instilled swirls and imperfections.
Congrats on the purchase of your new v! As you're obviously into mods, I'd recommend looking into a Shark-Fin antenna.
Congrats on the new Prius v, great mods for a recent purchase! Just as an FYI, Prius v is a lowercase since in 2010 they used uppercase Roman numerals for package designation and thanks to that it still causes confusion...
Thank you much! I was starting to read up on this. Are the pros merely looks? With no loss in function/quality? Best place to get it? Thanks.... Wife is goo goo ga ga over it. I have to admit, I catch myself smiling when tinkering with her or driving her. Mark... Thanks for the kind words. I did not know I was calling it "V", without realizing I was doing it in error. I would imagine this is a common new owner mistake? Lol Is there a way you could please correct my a) username....to become FromFus2v? And b) the title of this thread to change "pkg 2" to "pkg II"? Thank you so much. Out of curiosity... What other immediate "must have mods" (besides the shark fin antenna) do you guys recommend? I'd be particularly interested in aesthetic, mileage, or performance mods. Many thanks in advance.
No problem, I'll make the changes though two is right for the model as roman numerals were only for 2010, before the Prius c and v were even out. Ad don't even worry, there are MANY people who don't even realize it, and for good reason as it was really just a dumb naming thing on Toyota part. If they hadn't used uppercase Roman numerals for one model year it wouldn't even be a concern.
Thank you sir. I have a couple more questions though... How do you multiquote in this forum? Also how do you embed a you tube vid instead of just the link? Sorry... But I am used to vbulletin and not this forum format. Thank you.
No problem at all. We used to use vBulletin until Danny, the Admin, went with XenForo something like a year ago. Definitely a learning curve with this new software. Honestly, not sure immediately about YouTube as I just don't do it often enough. When I have I just put the link in and it showed up in the post. As for quoting multiple people in one post, hit reply in each persons post you want to reply to and it will put each persons post into the reply box at the bottom. Then you just have to reply spacing inbetween each persons quote it put in. Or hit reply in a persons post, make your reply and then without submitting it go and hit reply in the next persons post and it will put it in the box, rinse and repeat. Hope my poor explanation helps
Assuming small quotes from different people, I copy/paste into the reply box and then select each quote in turn and enclose it with 'quote' brackets by clicking on the quotation button in the formatting bar. The downside to this approach is that the author information of the quote is not included. For clarity I usually include the name of the author in my reply.
I converted my halogens to HID in previous Prius IV - they were great! What bulbs did you use for parking lights? Are they plug and play?
Thank you... That helps a lot. As for the YouTube vids, I saw that in someone else's post, they had to bracket the video link with media=YouTube. I tried it on my first post above, and it worked! I was just hoping there was a quicker way to click a button and have the bracket already there. How about smiley faces??? Where's the button choices for those? Or just long hand? But here, I figured it out the "long" way. Anyone know a shorter way??? In the vid, I wanted to show how the xenons get progressively brighter in a few seconds. That's the issue... In this new format of the forum, there is no rich text or quotation buttons to click. Unless you know of a way to change formatting? Thank you sir. They are VLEDS... I love them. I went with their brightest 5k one. But yes, they are complete plug n play.
Yes! That's it! Thank you so much. I figured out that the reason I can't see any of the rich text, etc... is because I was viewing it on my iPhone and iPad. Both seem to bring up the "mobile" version of things, so the bar is not visible. I'm typing this on my Mac, so finally, I can see it and BOLD and italicize my posts... lol Thank you much. I appreciate the kind words.
