Hey everyone, I'm noticing that my voice recognition and some other things are a bit buggy with my sound system. Are there any ways to request a software upgrade from my Toyota dealer for this? My assumption is that in the US this would come via Entune, but we don't have Entune up here in Canada - despite the fact that we have Entune-capable head units.
If you have an "apps" button on your radio/NAV of your 2012 the dealer should have a USB stick that they can put in the USB port of the car that will update the firmware of the NAV system. It should take less than 30 minutes. Check what version of the firmware you are on and if your not on the most current firmware explain the problem and ask for the update. If it's not the firmware they may order you an exchange head for the nav system. You can find out your version under "Setup>General>System Info" Current firmware is 1.8.4. Their is not yet an update for the maps.
I am just getting my 2012 Prius upgraded this week, hopefully. I had to take my car in for a screw in the tire as I was driving home tonight. So asked them to upgrade the software and provided the TSB details.
I have to say, I'm completely gobsmacked by my local dealer. Not only did they upgrade my Display Audio system, but they were completely aware of it and it's been upgraded to 2.2.0. It completely fixed the speed at which Bluetooth connects my phone to the car and the issue I had with my old 120Gb iPod Classic not working with Display Audio is gone! Needless to say, I am VERY pleased. Dixie Toyota in Mississauga is where I took my vehicle.
