My walking buddy is ready to go anytime, and is always encouraging me to get out more. She's really cute, too, and in awesome shape. When I can afford the time, we go for hours at a stretch. Of course, we have to hit every dog park on the way.... Oddly enough, I find myself getting less exercise than I used to. BD (before dog) I'd ride my bike long and fast, and expend far more energy than I possibly could walking. I know, it's an unusual example, and I'm not counselling against walking, but it's not necessarily THE best.
Walking, running, cycling, tread mill on an incline, stationary bike, weight training, etc whatever floats your boat, Just do it.
