May I offer sympathy on behalf of all PC members and readers to all the families of the firemen lost in Arizona. We have lost brave men that do there uttermost to protect our lives and properties from danger. As do fire fighters around the world. John (Britprius)
I feel very sorry for them, and it's a terrible loss They were very brave, and they lost their lives trying to protect the population. It's terrible. Is this "hot shot" thing common practice in the US (or just in the South West US)? It sounds extremely dangerous. As you might know, Australia has an awful lot of very big bushfires, and I've never heard of our firefighters doing anything like this. I think that here it would just be seen as too dangerous, and not worth the risk.
