Hello everyone. I've been attracted to the Prius for the longest time and I'm finally going to get one within the next week or two. If you could help me with some of my questions I'd greatly apreeciate it! 1) Are there any differences between a 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013 Prius.. assuming they're the same model? ( I, II,IIIetc.) Couldn't find much on yearly updates.. **Is the technology the same on the display screen? 2) The persona... where does that fit in as far as I,II,II,IV? 3) I'm looking at pre-owned vehicles.. just to save me from the initial depreciation of a new vehicle. Do you have any reccomendations or input on things I should look out for? Thanks!.. very excited to join the fleet.
The persona is between III and IV. I had the 2010 Prius I before upgrading to 2013 Persona so I can't make much comparison except to get more features on the Prius. Mechanically, they are almost the same.
I believe the 12-13 are the same the 10-11 have less of the high tech stuff on them I found a new 12 Prius4 at the dealer and they were slashing prices $4k off
1) 2012+ has a different front bumper with standard DRLs. They lack the clear taillights on the 2010/11. Also all 2012+ models come standard with usb/BT and display stereo with entune/nav/backup cam/3dr sks standard on III and higher. A few colors were replaced from the 2010/11. 2) persona is just a standard III with softex w/ red stitching, 17" wheels, chrome interior accents, and an exclusive black cherry pearl color option. 3) have you looked into the 0% apr on new? That may help offset the price difference. Also CPO Priuses tend to be overpriced in my area especially during summer months.
I agree. When I was pricing new in January 2013, Prius 5 with and without ATP, able to get less than MSRP pricing. Got smart and decided to go with a new 2012 Plug In Advance, reduced MSRP pricing and other incentives.
I friend just bought a Persona over the weekend. The local dealers told him that they have stopped production and had a slightly hard time finding one in Blizzard. In regards to finding/buying used.. where I am, in CA, everyone seems to be keen on that(buying used to save), so used car prices are too high IMHO. With 0% now, it's even less an incentive to buy used. Along with lower price of used, the car did depreciate and is "used", yet I don't see the prices reflect that! Or not enough to justify. Good luck!
Thank you for the feedback. I purchased a prius plug-in advanced this past week and I LOVEEEE it! Going back and forth to work everyday on electric.
