Hello. New to Prius chat. I was wondering if charging the battery before running out EV would be bad today I recharged with 5 EV left. I know I'm losing out on those 5 miles I'm more concerned about the life of the battery.

As you know (or maybe not) the charging electronics in the PIP charges the battery to only about 85% of full capacity and only discharges to about 20% to extend the battery life. So charging the battery with 5 miles EV left wouldn't necessarily damage or shorten the battery but would benefit the battery IMHO.
Charge any time you would like no problem at all. The battery does not keep any memory, So Charge away! Enjoy your Plug-in.
