    battery powered grass mower. I have about 1/3 acre of grass and it takes less than 0.5 KWH to mow the entire lawn. In $$$ terms, that's about 7 cents. It used to cost me $1.50 in gas to mow. Other benefits includes no oil needed and no spark plugs to change. The noise level is much lower and very little vibration. The mower itself is super light so you will not need the self-propel option

    I currently have the GreenWorx 19 inch blade, 40volt. Make sure whatever you decide to buy, get the one with Lithium battery. The lead acid battery is heavy. You'll probably pay more for lithium but it's worth it.


    I got mine from Lowes. GreenWorx 40v lithium, 19 inch blade. I haven't tried other brands so I don't know if this one is the best. But for me, it's working great. Whatever you buy, get the lithium battery ones.

    Some people use goats to mow. After a few years, they could also enjoy their meat.

    Battery powered... it's just able to cut the front and back yard before the battery gives out.

    The Greenworks comes with two batteries. One big one and one smaller ones. Most of the time, I mow the front on one day and the back another day.

    If I bag the grass, it's about an hour since I had to spend more time emptying the bag. Normally, it takes about 45 minutes to do the entire yard. Since the electric mower is super light, it's not a bad 45 minutes. I usually mow when the sun is still out, that's why I split the chore into 2 days. I can't stand the heat.

    I have used the corded one and it is a pain to manage the cable. This one sounds like a winner.

    Thanks. I'm actually quite surprised how well it works considering it's powered by a battery. I was expecting it to be under powered but that's not the case. It also has a built-in sensor for monitoring motor speed. If I were mowing thicker grass, it would automatically draw more power to do the job. Otherwise, it would run at a normal speed which use less power.

    That's a really good feature. It'll extend the usage time or decrease the battery size to make it lighter.

    If I had a small yard, I would have gotten an electric mower long time ago. The cord is a pain even just for trimmer.

    After all this time, I don't even notice the cord. I start close to the plug and zig-zag away from it.

    My options were buy the gas mower and my wife would help with the mower or buy the electric mower and get no help. I didn't have to think too long to decide
