Anyone know how hot they get? Can I put a clear film protector over the lens? I want to protect agains rock chips. I tried touching it right after I parked and it was not even warm. It's difficult to try touching it while they are on because as soon as I shift into park, they shut off. Also, how many watts do these use?
They're LEDs and don't get hot. That's why the Five with LED headlights come with mandatory headlight washers as there's no heat to melt off the snow. A member has put yellow vinyl overlays on the DRLs.
Just get a roll of clear fog light protection film from rvinyl.com and cut it yourself. Better yet, remove the lights and wrap it over the edge. It's easy to do. A number of us did this with red rvinyl film on the 3rd brake light to match our Valenti HC taillights.
Thanks for the suggestions. I may go back to the place that did my clear bra installation and have them do the lights too.
