    You can still use the foot + defrost setting to defog.

    What's upsetting is that if the temperature is set above ambient, it will trigger the ICE. The heater is not electric. This is why I have to remember to repeatedly jab at the temperature down button prior to stopping the car. If not, then it's waste gas or cause an accident. There is a very simple fix for this Toyota. Let us change temperature without turning on the HVAC.

    And to stay on topic. I always see a mob of cars at the cheap Costco gas stations. Unless these people drive hybrids, don't they know that being 5th or 6th in line means they're likely going to idle most of your savings? They're better off paying a higher price elsewhere and not have to wait.

    Since the gasoline consumption is not obvious in non-hybrids, I suspect that most people are totally unaware that they are idling away their cost savings in the long Costco lines. Not to mention the gasoline used if one drives miles out of one's way to get to a Costco or other cheap station. All they see is the the lower price on the pump.:rolleyes:
