I just got the PiP and would like to know some tips and pointers. For example, I used to have a BMW and if I press and hold the button on the remote, all windows would roll down. Or something more related to our car, if you hold down the start button while driving, it'll shut down power and eventually come to a stop(at least that's the case for my 2010 Prius). I believe you have to hold the button for 3 secs. Anymore cool tricks that might come in handy??? Please share them, thanks!
In EV mode at 62 mph, shift into B gear. The gas engine will not kick in. A regular Prius would start ICE if you do it above 25 mph.
To brake without using your foot. To regen brake slower, easier on the battery. I found one useful application. If you brake over a pothole and regen brake gets cancelled, drop it into B gear and it resumes the regen. It comes handy to be able to do that without worrying about ICE kicking in.
It's self generating. If you pay attention, watch to see you suddenly have some EV range with certain types of driving. One of my favorite events in my car was being able to drive 6.6 miles on the Ortega Hwy one hot summer afternoon without even plugging in. The downhill + braking and coasting literally propelled me 6.6 miles without EVER plugging in that day...
That's a tough one! those experts in this forum revealed almost everything...wait, I have one - the automatic washing machine I am using tends to click-open the charging port lid! What about yours? I wish there was some kind of manual latch there to prevent it. Anyways, I have checked and the connection area remains dry
If you hold your foot to the floor while at a stop it will click and engage hill start assist for a couple seconds and hold the car for you.
