What is the secret code?

    I see a lot of references to Gen 2 and Gen 3 etc. What is it and how do I know what I have. Also can someone decipher my VIN: JTDKN3DU3D557489

    Gen 2 was sold MY 2004 to 2009
    Gen3 is sold MY 2010 to 2014?
    Gen 4 will be sold MY 2015 on?

    PiP is a Gen 3 with a larger battery.

    v is very like a Gen 3 station wagon

    c is much more it's own (smaller) car

    PiP, v, and c started being sold in MY 2012
