Or, if you don't want to do something quite as drastic and permanent, you can buy some blank, printable Window Decals at an office supply store, and print some decals for your rear passenger "quarter" windows (or rear window, or front window) and put them on. You can remove them a bit more easily when the time comes (years from now) to part with the car. Very inexpensive. I got a 10-pack at staples for about $11.00. Now I just have to decide what I want to print, and print them already. I plan to print them "flipped" so they will go on the inside of the window and be normally visible on the outside of the car.
Our Prius is not painted. Those spots are vinyl stickers. Bought on sale for $12. It took us two hours to apply to Rudy. They've been on there since the summer of 2007, and we've only lost about 3 of them, probably going through the carwash. If we ever want to, they will peel right off, especially on a hot day.
