Maybe it was actually made in China? I read somewhere that the Chinese had a licence to build Prii for their home market. Then again, maybe I'm imagining things.... iPad ? HD
Thanks. In the belt by the seat a sticker indicates Nov 2011. My concern is GII is manufactured 2004-2009 and how come this a 2011 or 2012 model? Then this should be nearly new condition with 23000km in 2012. May be I am confused?? High regards Samarasinghe
Sometime around when the Gen 3 began shipping (~May 09 in the US), I recall hearing about Toyota continuing to make the Gen 2 for the JDM market, as a lower cost version. I wish I could find the thread or article about that. I believe I even saw a post/article on that stating that Toyota investigated doing that for the US market but ran into cost issues w/retrofitting the Gen 2 to meet future US mandates relating to either emissions or OBD 2. I wish I could find all that. Does this ring a bell for anyone? Maybe ken1784 or someone from Japan can chime in... edit: Found it! A second 2010 Prius in introduced in Japan | PriusChat. I wish I knew its current status, or the status around the time most helpful for you.
