I bought a 2008 Prius about two weeks ago. So far I really like it. One thing that puzzles me is that there are two different types of wheels on each side of the car: one a solid allow and the other an allow with a plastic rim around the outer 2-3 inches of circumfrance.
Did the trim rings simply come off one side? If you pop off the trim rings there is an aluminum rim under em'. Pop off the ones left and see if it's the same as on your other side.
There are not wheel covers; just that 2 of the wheels have a plastic rim around the outside 2-3 inches; the center of the wheels being metal "spokes" similar to the other 2 solid aluminum wheels. This Prius had Pack # 6. Thanks for trying to help me out!
That's exactly what we're trying to tell you. Pull those plastic rings off the wheels and they'll all match. SCH-I535
OK...your are both absolutely correct! Both of the plastic rims came off, and I put them on the right side to make up for getting too close to the curb! I was concerned I might damage my "new" car by trying to pry off something that is permanently fastened. Mystery solved, thanks to you both.
