Rakuten: Prius (ZVW30/35) late LED 3D light bar with LED winker lens PRIUS / turn signals- Shopping Japanese products from Japan For those that don't know, Rakuten is like a Japanese version of Amazon. This is my first attempt trying to purchase anything from there, so any useful tips would be appreciated. As a frame of reference, I've been trying to order these lights above from Rakuten since 12/5/13 but have had some pitfalls along the way. Long story short, they finally withdrew the funds from my account today. Does anyone have any frame of reference how much longer it will take to receive my items from Japan? Tips Before you order anything from Rakuten, call your bank and let them know to expect an international order. If not, they will probably place a hold on your account for security purposes. I can only give Australian experience. They are good with articles that sellers will send overseas. This is not always apparent on the site. There is an English version of the site. Aussie banks don't seem to be fazed by international orders. The English site will give prices in your currency. Delivery time for us was about a week. Better than China or Hong Kong. That's a damn good price considering I just paid $250.72 and am still hoping I did everything correctly...
The tow hook insert 4300K white LED DRLs were a Rakuten order (via their website and Google translate) paid via direct credit card. Six days, order to delivery. Revier LED Front Turn Signal DRL and Tow Hook LED DRL 2012 13 Toyota Prius V | eBay
I ordered the lower polished molding for my v earlier this year. I used a CC and had no problems with ordering or shipping. It took a bit longer to receive them - I recall a couple weeks.
Thanks. How easy is it to wire them so they are on all the time (except when the car is off of course). Is there a tutorial anywhere for that?
There's quite a few threads on modifying 2012+ stock DRLs if you'll do a search. With aftermarket DRLs like Revier, easiest would be just to insert the wires into fuse #25 or 26. They'll be always on in ACC mode.
Do these DRLs (from above) look like fluorescent lights when off? The pictures when off look a bit plasticy/CFL like. I also think for me, the pure white of them may not look that good on a Black Prius (when off). The stock LED DRLs look sorta smoked/grey when off which I like.
