My check engine light came on. Did not read it for codes. Day later I replaced the cabin air filter (not in response to the check engine light, just routine maintenance). Check engine light went off after driving about 8 miles. Are they be related?
Cabin Filter usually doesn't trigger the check engine light. Maybe a loose gas cap would. The DTC is logged so whenever you get a chance, you can retrieve the code.
It's not uncommon for a CEL to go away after a while if the error condition that triggered it has stopped, or doesn't exist anymore. Could be an intermittent cylinder misfire, etc. SCH-I535
