I never even heard of these until someone posted about these on TiVocommunity last month... At work, I (and most of my coworkers) have one of these $1K Apple Thunderbolt Display (27-inch) - Apple Store (U.S.). They're nice but errr, crazy expensive. Before you compare them to cheapo lower resolution 27-inch LCDs, which tend to be TN, there are other technologies (e.g. IPS, VA, etc.), see Coding Horror: Not All LCD Panels Are Created Equal. Anyhow, these monitors are kinda weird. They're IPS, have the same resolution as the above but way cheaper ($300-ish) and are only dual-link DVI (weird too). (Most people are used to single-link DVI which can only support up to 1920x1200 res.) See below for some articles... Am I the only tech/computer enthusiast who was unaware of this until recently?
